2012 Gigs

 Hello Lovely ones,

I trust you are all getting your New Years plan cemented. This time last year I was in Samoa with some friends soaking up the pacific paradise and the kick back atmosphere. It was pretty fly but I desperately missed my family so this year I'm happy to be back home with them.

We plan to go kick back at the local carnival and fireworks, play some games, record some whack videos and rather than nurse a crazy hangover (I don't drink anyways); we plan to get up early and take a huge hike through the bush (pretty sure it's 8kms either way) to a lookout.

We thought we would start 2013 with a physical challenge to keep our mind and body in check. With a challenge comes the feeling of accomplishment once the task is completed and I plan to tackle this challenge with some of my most favourite people.

Personally I'm really looking forward to the coming year. I made a commitment to work full time for 12 months and I haven't done that in a few years. I'm planning on travelling yet again and I'm also looking forward to the challenge of improving my physical health and well being. I have really loved cementing a fitness routine into my daily life. I am looking forward to reaching a goal of running 5kms on the road :/ LOL Lord help me ;) and encouraging all those around me to improve their own well being. I will have a teenager living under my roof and care and I basically, I am going to save money so that I can move to the UK for a stint of teaching and travelling in 2014.

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY. And why not. I'm young, I'm determined, I'm educated and I'm willing to make things happen. As I spoke with my sister I said it's been a year of music for us personally. Growing up we were quite poor. Enough money for the necessities but definitely not enough money for luxuries like concerts. Our friends would go and we would just imagine what it would be like. This year we attended a lot of music gigs. There is nothing I like more than live music.
We started 2012 with a bang. Venga Boys.

Here's a list and photos of the gigs we attended in 2012. What were your favourite gigs of 2012?

  1. The Venga Boys- Newcastle Entertainment Centre January 14th
  2. Lloyd & Lazy J January 26th
  3. Superfest Sydney (Chris Brown, Trey Songs, T Pain etc) 15th April
  4. Dan Sultan- Wreck Bay Community March
  5. Daniel Merriweather  May 3 Wollongong Uni Bar
  6. Lenny Kravitz Wollongong Entertainment Centre
  7. Celine Dion Caesars Palace Vegas July
  8. Lady Antebellum
My girls before the show started. Venga Boys were AWESOME!!!

Lloyd was late and we were mad but we forgot about it when he sang because he owned the stage.
Lazy J held his own on stage too. Big things to come if he takes his time to come up smart.
Forget the bouquet...we fought for this. Lloyd's shirt off his back. Sometimes it pays to be the big girls ;)
"Your the girls who were screaming smack at us" No that was for the others who sucked ;)
Lloyd crew <3
Superfest. Standing for like 14 hours. No breaks. No way we gonna lose our spot ;) Gangster.
Chris Brown, Ice Cube, Luda, T Pain, Trey Songs, Kelly Rowland, Big Sean, Naughty by Nature, Lupe Fiasco. Luda and Naughty by Nature and T Pain were my favourites.
We made our own shirts with our fave lyrics. I used Miguel's lyrics to Adorn.

Gah best voice bro. Dan Sultan. I <3 thee ;)
Best vibe. Chilled. Raw. Up close and personal.
After much hesitation we walked up and introduced ourselves and asked for pic. Ended up partying with them. Yeah!

Wormed our way from the back right up to the front. Got to touch Lenny and he responded to my demands ;)

Dream list of 2013

Got tickets to see Brian Adams....YEAAAAHHHH BOII!! That's a great start right?

Would love to see:

  1. Miguel
  2. Solange
  3. Tracey Chapman
  4. Ameli Sande
I could add a buttload more but I will leave it at that.

Christmas Pt.1

Thrifted / Dress Jacket - Shoes / Rivers - Belt / Gifted

Merry Christmas Friends,

I hope that you all had or a having a wonderful Christmas with family & friends. This is my favourite time of the year and it's also a time where I eagerly await all the Christmas posts from all over the world.

Just wanted to share my Christmas outfit. I picked up the dress for $2 like 3 days before Christmas at one of my local opshops. I love polkadots so as soon as I saw this dress I was like "HELLLLL YEAH!". Wore my fave jacket of the moment. This outfit is a little matchy for me. I usually like to contrast my colours more but what's Christmas if you can't be a matchy poo ;)

Took these photos at the river when I went with my niece and nephew to pick some flowers for our table.

I love Christmas. Hope yours was good. More pics coming.

Casual Sunday

Shirt & Earrings Thrifted/ Skirt City Chic / Shoes Converse

Last weekend my beautiful friend Rhianon got married to her love Hayden. It was sooooo nice to catch up with my friends and witness such a beautiful union. While I don't have any wedding photos to share right now, I'm hoping I can source some from my friends because it really was sooooo nice and I want to share them with you guys.

This is just a super casual day-after-the-wedding look. We stayed in the Hunter Valley overnight and then spent Sunday morning with a little window shopping in Tuggerah with my sister and our friend Emma. She shouted us Max Brenners for a Christmas treat (oh dear the choc peanut butter frappe was soooooooooo good) but then it was time to leave again :(

Thanks Emma and Bullu for a relaxing Sunday.

I hope you guys are not too snowed under with all the holiday preparations. I can't wait till Christmas.

vintage faded denim melbourne

A few months ago I went away to catch up with some of my lovely friends in Melbourne. The cold weather (I hate the cold) meant that I could wear my vintage denim jacket purchased by my friend from my favourite local opshop Mickey and Mallory.

I fell in love with the studded detail and embroidery. It's probably one of the coolest pieces I own and I wore this when I went to see Daniel Merriweather HERE and he even said he loved my jacket too!

So here it is more it with my purple oversized blouse. I found this baby in Brooklyn when I went opshopping with the Trini-Sissy Gabby. The colour and the buttons caught my eye and I'm pretty sure it set me back like $4. WINNING! Would have been cool to wear it with some boots or wedges but it was FREEEEEZING that night and were walking all over the city so I had to be kind to my toes :/

Vintage Denim Jacket $35 / Purple Vintage blouse $4 / Black Tights Kmart $8

Do you like it? What's your favourite denim piece?

Much love,

Aussie Curves: Orange

For this weeks Orange challenge I quickly dived into my cupboard to find my gorgeous floral top that I picked up from Supre at the beginning of the year when I went to the Gold Coast for my cousins 21st birthday. This beautiful feminine piece is full of orange, yellow, pink and purple flower prints and this was my initial piece for the look. I then added the other pieces for a really bright summer look.

Looking at the photos now I can't see a strong emphasis on the orange and that's partly because the other two colours are just so demanding on the eye. I wore this to go out to a special birthday breakfast for my sister, my friend and her sister who was visiting from Armidale.

Kept it comfy (as always) with my grey brogues and of course I have to have my thrifted elements in this outfit. I picked up the green blouse sometime last year for a few dollars and I borrowed my sisters super cool glasses that she picked up from the Salvos at the beginning of the year at the Gold Coast too.

Can't wait to see the other ladies splash out on orange. Keep it fresh and fun yeah?

Aussie Curves: Dark

Blouse $6 Vinnies / Tights Kmart $8 / Boots $35 Target / Glasses $2 Salvos

Guess who's back baby? Couldn't miss out 2 weeks now because that would just be absurd. So for dark I opted to wear this gorgeous over sized blouse that my sister picked up for me a few weeks ago at Vinnies for $6.  I love the black detailing because it reminds me somehow of an old 50's Letterman jacket. Don't ask me how or why. It just does. My sister said it reminds her of the 90's but either way I love the length, colour and buttons because I can be a lazy little duck and wear it with plain black tights and boots and I'm good to go.

I searched my house trying to find my friends berry lipstick but I couldn't find it anywhere. So I smoked up the eyes to vamp up the darkness. It not literally dark but everything doesn't have to be a literal interpretation now does it. Check out all the other interpretations below. Love them all.
